Manchester United icon David Beckham attempted to bring striker Cristiano Ronaldo to Inter Milan in the United States.

Ronaldo still has a year remaining on his contract with Man United, and is set to stay for the coming season.

According to the Express, Beckham attempted to take advantage of Ronaldo's situation by offering him an escape route.

However, the Portuguese may believe he can still play at the highest level in Europe for at least a few more years.

Ronaldo was linked to both Chelsea and Bayern Munich in recent days, but those rumors were quickly shut down.

The veteran will be hoping United's fortunes improve under new boss Erik ten Hag next season.
