In providing the pass for Anthony Elanga's equalizer, Fernandes broke a record of becoming the first player in Champions League history from an English team to assist a goal in six successive games in the competition.

Fernandes broke a record that was held by David Beckham, who managed the feat in 1998.

While the midfielder is in good company with this stat, he and the rest of the team will be hoping to up their game in the second leg against Atlético, if they are to secure passage to the Quarter-Finals.
