Manchester United have signed goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce on deadline day for clubs in the Women’s Super League.

The American has signed in a deal said to be worth the £100k fee that was previously the record sum paid for a goalkeeper in the women’s game.

Tullis-Joyce, 26, previously played in Europe for Reims and has spent the last two seasons with OL Reign in the NWSL.

The move comes amid uncertainty over Mary Earps’ future. The England star has just one year remaining on her Manchester United contract and has been the subject of a bid from Arsenal, who have already signed fellow England international Alessia Russo on a free from United this summer.
