Manchester United could sign Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri on a cut-price deal when the transfer window reopens this summer.

The Red Devils are likely to invest in another centre-forward with Anthony Martial due to leave the club when his contract expires on June 30.

Rasmus Hojlund had a promising debut season with 16 goals and two assists from 43 games, but United need a solid competitor alongside him.

The club are unlikely to make another huge outlay this summer, considering the reduced revenue after missing out on the Champions League.

The onus could be on signing an experienced striker for a reasonable price. En-Nesyri would be a quality purchase for the club this summer.

En-Nesyri’s attributes would suit the Premier League

The 26-year-old has been tipped to move to the English top flight for some time.

He has been linked with several elite clubs in the league and could finally make the switch, considering his contract with Sevilla expires in 2025.

En-Nesyri is a traditional marksman with fantastic finishing skills. In 2023/24, he netted 20 goals for 14th-placed Sevilla, 19 of which came from inside the box.

He would be a fine competitor alongside Hojlund, whose workload must be handled cautiously during his development phase.

The Dane was in sparkling scoring form earlier this year, netting eight goals in as many games before being sidelined for a month with a muscular concern.

United can’t place the entire scoring burden on a 21-year-old striker, and En-Nesyri would be a quality acquisition at a relatively cheap price.

Vamos Sevilla recently reported that the striker could be available for £21-26 million.

Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy is another possible candidate, but the Guinean is already 28 years old. This may persuade the hierarchy to target a younger alternative.
