Everton were keen to keep George at the club this summer but reports late on Wednesday claimed United had agreed to pay the £150k release clause in 26-year-old’s Everton contract.

A two-time England international, George spent part of her youth career at United but joined Everton in 2014 and made history as she became the club’s first full-time professional player back in 2017.
