Manchester United could make a blockbuster transfer in the summer to back manager Ruben Amorim.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils ‘remain open to signing Sporting winger Geovany Quenda, despite the arrival of Patrick Dorgu from Lecce’.

The report further revealed that United have already ‘met with influential agent Jorge Mendes in November’.

Quenda flourished under Amorim at Sporting and could reunite with the 40-year-old at Old Trafford for £33.4 million in the summer.

Quenda would be a fantastic signing

Quenda is a perfect fit for Amorim’s preferred 3-4-2-1 system as he is capable of playing on either flank.

The 17-year-old prodigy has impressed this season, scoring two goals and delivering seven assists in 37 appearances.

United decided against signing an attacker in the winter transfer window in order to have more financial room to play with next summer.

Securing a top-tier attacker and a solid wing-back should top United’s list of priorities.

Quenda has adapted seamlessly to a more advanced role on the left.

His versatility and intensity could boost the quality of United’s squad.

INEOS have put a keen emphasis on signing young players who can serve them for a long time and also offer resale value.

Players like Leny Yoro, Patrick Dorgu, and Ayden Heaven exemplify this forward-thinking approach.

His arrival could be the game-changer United need, especially since they’ve thrived when a winger has been deployed as a right wing-back.

His signing would also free up Amad Diallo to shine in his preferred role as a right number ten.

INEOS must back Amorim and bring the high-quality youngster to the Theatre of Dreams in the summer.
