After their disappointing performance and defeat against Leicester at the weekend, Manchester United were hoping to bounce back quickly against Atalanta in the Champions League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handed Marcus Rashford his first start since his return from injury, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood all named alongside him in a fierce looking attack.
But things did not go to plan in the first half.
United fell 2-0 behind inside the first half an hour to two poorly defended Atalanta goals and if it stays like this, even bigger questions are going to be asked about Solskjaer’s job in the coming days.
But a goal from Marcus Rashford early in the second half gave the Red Devils a huge lifeline, before Harry Maguire equalised with 15 minutes to go.
And just like magic, Cristiano Ronaldo then leapt like a salmon to put them 3-2 up in the dying minutes!
Classic United.
