Manchester United are reportedly ready to pay the €120m release clause for Atlético Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak.
Oblak only signed a new four-year deal on April 17, but uncertainty over David De Gea has forced United to consider their options.
According to ESPNFC, Old Trafford board members believe €120m would still be excellent value for arguably the world’s best goalkeeper.
De Gea – usually so reliable for the club – has endured an error-strewn campaign and has just one year left on his current deal.
Talks over a new contract have stalled and the Spanish goalkeeper is believed to be considering his options after another disappointing season.
Having had opportunities to leave Atlético previously, it’s understood that Oblak will only consider joining an ‘elite European side’.
