Man Utd could sign two goalkeepers this summer with the Red Devils interested in Feyenoord stopper Justin Bijlow, according to reports.

David de Gea’s contract at Old Trafford expired on Friday with the Spaniard’s situation remaing unclear as Man Utd wait to see if he will accept their latest proposal.

The Red Devils and De Gea had reportedly agreed a deal for the 32-year-old to reduce his wages from £375k a week to £200k a week before Man Utd made a U-turn on the deal and made a proposal for even less money.

Their latest offer remains on the table with a Man Utd statement on Friday saying: “David De Gea’s contract is due to run out but discussions remain open with the long-serving keeper.”

Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta confirmed yesterday that the Red Devils are interested in buying the Italian club’s goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Marotta said: “Manchester United have expressed an interest (in Onana) which may or may not lead to an offer in the next few days.

“Once that happens, both Inter and the player will carefully assess it.”

And now Dutch website 1908 claim that Man Utd have ‘concrete interest’ in Feyenoord goalkeeper Bijlow but the Eredivisie club is ‘doing everything in the background to keep’ him.

The report suggests that Man Utd could attempt to sign both Onana and Bijlow – who is valued at around €15m – this summer if De Gea leaves the Premier League club.

1908 add: ‘In addition to the possible arrival of Justin Bijlow, the Premier League club is also committed to the arrival of Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana . If De Gea does not extend and if both transfers are finalized, the goalkeeper guild of head coach Erik ten Hag’s team will compete for the new first place under the bar at Old Trafford.’

Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand admits he’s “a little bit gutted with how the club have handled” the situation surrounding De Gea’s future.

Ferdinand said on his FIVE YouTube channel: “It’s a funny situation. Whether you think David de Gea is good enough for Manchester United anymore is up for debate.

“But he’s been an unreal servant to this football club. He’s been there for 12 years and been Player for the Year multiple times. In the main he’s served the club remarkably well, he’s an outstanding professional.

“There’s a lot of people calling for him to leave and that’s understandable and fair. I’m just a little bit gutted with how the club have handled this.

“It comes down to communication. I’m seeing more and more players leave with a sour taste and it’s not right. I don’t think it’s fair on the player.”

Ferdinand added: “David must be sitting there and thinking, ‘I never dreamed that I would leave the club in this way, in this manner’. I look at it now and how does David stay?

“The only way he stays is if United can’t get Onana or whichever goalkeeper they go for. It would be difficult for him though because he’ll be looking at the club in a different light.

“It was love before, maybe it’s business now. It’s disappointing and I hope it gets sorted out, for David and the club’s sake.”
