GK: David de Gea - His long-term future is still uncertain, although there are no doubts about who will don the gloves for United this week.

RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka - Kept his place against Palace ahead of the fit-again Diogo Dalot. This healthy competition will likely push both players on.

CB: Raphael Varane - Has quit international football, citing the physical demands of playing so many games. He and United will be the beneficiaires of that.

CB: Lisandro Martinez - Firmly re-established as a starter following the World Cup break. This stands to be his fourth Premier League start in a row.
