Man Utd place bid for Benjamin Sesko

Manchester United have placed a bid for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko which is valued slightly below Newcastle United's offer.

The Red Devils had initially held off placing an official bid for the Slovenian striker until they knew that the player would be interested in a move to Old Trafford.

Now, various outlets are reporting that United have made a £73.8 million bid for the 22-year-old which is less than the Magpies' £78 million offer.

United were waiting on the player to confirm his interest in Ruben Amorims's project before a bid was made, although they are said to be waiting on a 'formal decision' according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Sesko played 45 games for Leipzig in all competitions last season, scoring 21 goals and making six assists.
