Cristiano Ronaldo will be permitted to depart Manchester United in January if the right offer comes in, according to a report on Monday night.
The Telegraph state that the player has made no secret of his desire to leave this winter and if a suitable offer is received, Erik ten Hag will not stand in the way of a move.
Unless his situation changes drastically soon, Ronaldo is eager to move on, after attempting and failing to engineer a summer exit.
Although Ten Hag initially wanted to keep the 37-year-old when he first took over, his stance has reportedly changed given the player’s own determination to depart.
Most recently, Ronaldo was an unused substitute in Sunday’s chastening 6-3 loss against Manchester City.
His only start in the Premier League this season came in the 4-0 loss at Brentford and since then, he has appeared fleetingly.
Ronaldo is hopeful that a strong showing at the World Cup next month could also potentially boost his prospects and options in the winter window.
