Man Utd offer for Sancho being ‘considered’, but overall value of deal declared ‘non-negotiable’ | OneFootball

Manchester United’s offer for Jadon Sancho is reportedly still being ‘considered’ by Borussia Dortmund, although the overall value of the deal is said to be ‘non-negotiable’.

The talented Englishman – who is a part of the Three Lions’ Euro 2020 squad – has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, following a string of consistently stunning displays for the German club that has seen him rack up 114 goal involvements (50 goals and 64 assists) in 137 games.

A return to England looked set to happen last summer, yet the deal collapsed as Manchester United failed to meet Dortmund’s £108m asking price. The 21-year-old’s form took a noticeable hit at the start of the most recent campaign as a result, although he enjoyed a strong return to form at the end of the season that saw the club clinch the DFB-Pokal.

A year on from that failed transfer, however, the two parties are once again locked in talks over the transfer, with Sancho reportedly having a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with his current side to depart the club this summer.

As per the reliable German outlet, Ruhr Nachrichten (via Sport Witness), the Red Devils have submitted an offer which is being ‘considered’ by Dortmund, although the overall cost of the deal is said to be ‘non-negotiable’.

The report suggests that the club are demanding a fee of around €95m (£81m) plus bonuses to let the young forward go and will not accept any less as they look to recoup a hefty transfer fee for a player who cost just £10m when he arrived as a teenager from Manchester City back in 2017.

It was widely reported last week that Man Utd’s opening offer of £67m plus bonuses had been knocked back, the offer falling short of Dortmund’s valuation who also are keen to improve on the payment schedule offered by the Old Trafford outfit.

As the report outlines, however, the fact that United’s recent bid hasn’t been outright turned down could be an indication that the two clubs are close to an agreement, although the Premier League side will be wary of celebrating too soon after last summer’s difficult and drawn-out negotiations.

Reports in Germany earlier this month suggested that Dortmund have set a deadline of mid-July for a deal to be completed.
