Manchester United have contacted the agent of Barcelona wonderkid Vitor Roque over a loan deal this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo (page 2).

The 19-year-old joined the Blaugrana from Athletico Paranaense in January for a fixed fee of €30 million with a further €31m in add-ons.

He has since played just over 300 minutes under manager Xavi Hernandez, scoring a couple of goals.

Roque has yet to establish himself as a key player for the Catalan giants and he could be loaned out for the 2024/25 season.

Barcelona have not paid a single penny of the transfer fee agreed with Paranaense. It is reported that they may not be able to register Roque next term.

He could be loaned out to a top European club to gain experience. United have contacted his agent over a potential deal.

Roque would be a quality addition to United’s squad

Roque is considered one of the best young talents from Brazilian football. He netted 21 goals and provided eight assists in his last season with Paranaense.

However, he has yet to prove his credentials under Xavi. With the experience of Robert Lewandowski up front, Roque has been unable to secure a starting role.

He is reportedly determined to prove himself at Barcelona, but they could be forced to loan him out due to their current financial situation.

This could be good news for the Red Devils. The club want a quality young back-up behind Rasmus Hojlund and Roque fits the bill.

The youngster has caught the eye with his superb ball control in and around the box, and he is capable of playing across the front line.

Securing a loan deal for him would allow United to invest their remaining transfer budget on positions that need more priority – a new defensive midfielder and a right-back.
