Manchester United should grab the opportunity to sign Fenerbahce full-back Ferdi Kadioglu during the ongoing transfer window.
The Red Devils have Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia as their specialist left-backs, but the latter has been injured for the last 14 months.
There is no time frame for his return to training. Shaw is also injury-prone, so the club is actively searching for a new left-back.
United may also need to reinforce the right-back department, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka possibly leaving the club this summer.
The 26-year-old has entered the last year of his contract, and the club could bring in an attacking right-back to accompany Diogo Dalot next term.
Kadioglu would be an ideal acquisition to fulfil both roles at United.
The Turkey international started his career as an attacking midfielder and a right winger, but he has been transformed into a quality full-back.
Kadioglu made 51 appearances for Fenerbahce last season, registering three goals and five assists. Forty-two of those games came from the left-back role.
The 24-year-old had a passing accuracy of 85 percent and created ten big chances in the Super Lig.
The NEC Nijmegen graduate was also brilliant defensively with 5.9 duels and two tackles won per game alongside 6.7 recoveries and 1.6 clearances.
He was impressive for Turkey at the European Championship. He made the joint-most tackles (18) despite his team’s quarter-final exit.
Juventus, Liverpool and Newcastle United are interested in Kadioglu, but United are reportedly ‘above all‘ in the race.
Fenerbahce are eyeing at least £25.3 million to part ways with Kadioglu. It appears to be a no-brainer decision for the Red Devils to sign him for that price.
