Manchester United are expected to be active in the last few days of the January transfer window.
Alejandro Garnacho is at the centre of intense speculation, with Napoli and Chelsea vying for his signature.
Sky Sports claims that United have lowered their demands for Garnacho.
They have reduced their initial asking price after holding talks on Tuesday and are now open to doing business at around £55 million.
Garnacho has found it hard to adapt to manager Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation.
The 20-year-old primarily operates as a left-winger, but the new set-up does not offer him the chance to play in that position.
Amorim has used him as one of the number 10s, but Garnacho has yet to impress.
There is no doubt about Garnacho’s immense talent, and he certainly has the potential to become a future superstar.
However, he must stay focused and prioritise his development.
His agent added fuel to the exit rumours when he was spotted watching Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.
Garnacho is viewed as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. He left Napoli to join Paris Saint-Germain this month.
United desperately need funds to bolster their squad. Selling Garnacho would be pure profit on their balance sheet as he is an academy product.
The influx of cash would provide a significant boost for United, enabling them to invest in a left wing-back and a creative number 10 to strengthen their squad.
United may prefer to sell Garnacho to Napoli rather than to a direct league rival.
They share a strong relationship with the Italian giants, having successfully completed Scott McTominay’s move in the summer.
