Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani wants to join Paris Saint-Germain, the French international has told Florian Plettenberg.
Kolo Muani has been strongly linked with the Ligue 1 champions this summer, with Manchester United also believed to have shown an interest.
PSG reportedly had an €80million (£68million) bid rejected by Frankfurt this week and have been told to pay €100m.
And in an effort to push through a move to the French capital, Kolo Muani has publicly expressed his desire to leave the Bundesliga club.
“I owe Eintracht Frankfurt a lot,” Kolo Muani told Sky Germany journalist Plettenberg. “I’ve taken the fans to my heart and have always behaved in a highly professional way.
“I always gave everything for the club until the very end.
“However, it’s no secret that Paris Saint-Germain made a record offer for me. A move to Paris is now a unique opportunity for me. I would like to move to Paris and have also informed the people in charge.
“I hope and wish that Eintracht will agree to Paris‘ offer and that this move will now be made possible for me.”
Frankfurt are reportedly interested in signing PSG striker Hugo Ekitike to replace Kolo Muani, if he does leave.
This could play into PSG’s hands as they potentially look to make Ekitike a part of the negotiations to bring his compatriot to the Parc des Princes.
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna reported on Tuesday that the Parisiens are unwilling to meet Frankfurt’s €100m valuation of Kolo Muani.
He wrote on Twitter: ‘At the time of writing, the positions between PSG and Frankfurt are far apart Possible point of no return reached, unless Frankfurt reconsiders its position.
