Manchester United legend Gary Neville hit out at VAR after Crystal Palace were able to retake their penalty for victory at Old Trafford.

With the Eagles 1-0 up, a spot-kick was awarded following a lengthy VAR delay when Victor Lindelof was harshly adjudged to have committed a handball in the box from an effort by Jordan Ayew.

The Palace striker stepped up to take the penalty, but his weak effort was saved when David de Gea dived to his right hand side to tip the shot away.

The game continued for a short time until referee Martin Atkinson blew his whistle to signal the spot-kick should be re-taken because De Gea was adjudged to be off his line at the point of contact.

Wilfried Zaha took the second penalty and made no mistake to bury it and put his side 2-0 up.

"That is an absolute disgrace," Neville said. "We are talking millimetres. This is unbelievable.

"I thought the penalty to Leeds last week was a nonsense and so is this one. It is never a penalty. Not a chance. Lindelof didn't have a clue (where the ball was)."
