Roy Keane is among the candidates to become the next manager of Salford City.
The League Two club is owned by Keane's former Manchester United teammates.
One of which, Paul Scholes, was appointed as interim manager on Monday after the sacking of Graham Alexander.
Former United reserves boss Warren Joyce, currently in charge of Salford's development team, is favourite to take the post on a permanent basis.
But Keane is also being considered for a return to management for the first time since leaving Ipswich Town in 2011.
The United legend has enjoyed assistant coaching roles with the Republic of Ireland, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest in recent years.
