Manchester United incoming manager Erik ten Hag has no issue with ex-players talking about current team issues on television.

Many of United's great players from the Sir Alex Ferguson era now serve as pundits on television or YouTube.

The likes of Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand have been critical of the way United are run in recent months.

"That has an impact, but it should never have an influence in the dressing room," said ten Hag when asked if such comments can influence the team negatively by De Telegraaf.

"Maybe the criticism is fiercer there. The club simply has a bigger fan base and more reach than Ajax, because England is much bigger, the Premier League is much bigger and basically everything is much bigger.'

"Compared to the Netherlands it's factor two, three, four or maybe even more. Fortunately, I've been getting more and more baggage on how to deal with certain forces.''
