Manchester United FA Cup winner Paul McGrath believes the fans are close to turning on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He wrote for the Sunday World: "Expectation is a dangerous commodity for any manager to deal with and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might just be a victim of that sooner rather than later.

"United didn't just lose 1-0 against Aston Villa at Old Trafford yesterday, as they were beaten by a better team and that will set alarm bells ringing.

"All of us with connections to the club want Solskjaer to succeed because he has a special place in United's history given all he achieved as a player.

"That history got him the United job in December 2018 and it has ensured the fans have stayed behind him, even though he has not won anything as United manager.

"Yet what games like yesterday do is use up the credits Ole has left and sadly, I fear he is down to the last few coins now.

"United fans might not turn against him right now, but that day may not be far away because we are not seeing the progress required from this team."
