Manchester United fans went through a rollercoaster of emotions during their Premier League defeat to Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.

The stage appeared to be set for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men to bounce back from their winless encounters with Aston Villa and Everton when Mason Greenwood fired them into a first-half lead.

However, it didn't take long for the wheels to fall off with a mistake from Harry Maguire allowing Youri Tielemans to level the scores before the interval with a delicious strike into the top corner.

And truth be told, it could have been 2-1 to Leicester a lot sooner than the scoreline ever reflected that if it wasn't for some superb goalkeeping from David de Gea, who brilliantly thwarted Tielemans.

In the end, though, United really did come apart at the seams with late goals from Çağlar Söyüncü, Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka eventually skyrocketing the Foxes into a 4-2 triumph.

Wait a second... we've missed a goal, though, haven't we? Yes, that's right, it's easy to forget that Marcus Rashford actually marked his return to first-team action with a brief moment of reprieve.

That's because the Englishman's fine one-on-one finish from Victor Lindelof's ball over the top had barely been celebrated by the time that Vardy lashed home his winner just 54 seconds later.

And while it means that Rashford's goal has somewhat been lost in the ether amongst United's post-match enquiries, make no mistake that it proved to be an emotional rollercoaster at the time.

Besides, with replays showing just how extraordinarily soon that Vardy's goal proceeded Rashford's equaliser, you can feel pretty certain that many United fans still wouldn't have finished celebrating.

In fact, such was the drama of Goldbridge's gearshift from the ecstasy of Rashford's goal to realising that Leicester had hit back again that footage of his reaction has gone viral across social media.

But perhaps most telling is the fact that Goldbridge seemed to have some level of grim acceptance that United would do something as silly as conceding immediately after scoring an equalising goal.

While the classic desk slamming and rage might have come after Daka's salt-in-the-wounds strike, you can just tell that part of Goldbridge simply wasn't surprised by United's 54-second capitulation.

And no matter what you think about the wider Solskjaer and Glazers debate, surely every United fan can agree that things should never be so bad that these damning lows feel like par for the course.
