Manchester United suffered late heartbreak in their 3-2 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday night.

The Red Devils put up a valiant performance against the Premier League leaders and ultimately entered the closing stages at Emirates Stadium in a fairly strong position at 2-2.

Marcus Rashford had opened the scoring with a stunning solo goal, before Eddie Nketiah headed home and Bukayo Saka produced a similar stupendous finish to put Arsenal in the lead.

However, when Lisandro Martinez put his body in harm’s way to loop a stooping header past Aaron Ramsdale, there was good reason to believe that United would take yet more points off Arsenal this season.

At least, that was how it looked until Nketiah decided to strike again, flicking out his foot in the right place at the right time to secure the most dramatic of triumphs for the Gunners.

How did Mark Goldbridge react to Arsenal’s winner?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, you’ll know that Goldbridge is the perpetually entertaining host of ‘The United Stand’, who are the Red Devils’ biggest fan channel with no less than 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube.

And assuming you’re not there under said rock, you’ll no doubt have seen Goldbridge go viral before with one of his animated reactions to United games as part of his customary ‘watchalongs’.

So, at this point, you probably know that we’re about to say Goldbridge had a typically emotive live reaction to Nketiah stealing a point from United’s grasps in the dying moments at the Emirates.

And given how much Arsenal fans are loving life right now, you probably won’t be surprised to learn that footage of the reaction has spread across Twitter like wildlife.

So if you’re an Arsenal fans wanting to indulge in a spot of schadenfreude or you’re a United supporter wanting to know you’re not alone or simply a neutral looking to enjoy some comedy gold, then be sure to check out Goldbridge’s typically superb reaction down below:

Why did you have to bring the cat into it, Mark?!

As has been the case with some of Goldbridge’s viral clips before, the United aficionado seemed to set himself up for catastrophe by noting that it would be ‘heartbreaking’ if Arsenal nicked the victory just before, well, they did.

Then, the silence spoke more for Goldbridge than any sort of jokes about VAR or United’s defending could possibly have done, summing up the utter frustration of everyone backing the Red Devils.

And it just wouldn’t be a Goldbridge video without some kind of random joke, so the quip that his cat was an Arsenal fan couldn’t help putting the cherry on top.

As amusing as it might all be, though, there is a more important element to Goldbridge’s anguish and that’s the fact that Nketiah’s winner could well be the watershed moment in Arsenal’s title charge.

The simple fact of the matter is that United played really well and have generally looked like a top team this season, but even they left Emirates Stadium completely empty handed…
