Manchester United are interested in AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

That's according to local Italian reporter Rudy Galetti, via O Jogo, who has stated Kessie is considered as an option to replace Paul Pogba.

With Pogba coming off contract in June, United are drawing up contingency plans should the Frenchman refuse to sign a new deal. Despite their attempts, Pogba remains on track to come off contract in June and leave Old Trafford.

Kessie is a prime target, with United knowing he is locked in new contract talks with the Rossoneri.

The midfielder has been key in Milan's revival over the last 18 months. The Rossonero are anxious about tying Kessie down to a new contract, but so far no agreement has yet been found.

Like Pogba, Kessie's deal expires in June. Now in his third year with Milan, Kessie has played five games for coach Stefano Pioli's team this season.
