Manchester United are ‘enticed’ to sign Juventus defender Gleison Bremer during the summer transfer window, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Red Devils are expected to invest in the central defensive department this summer with the possibility of Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans leaving on free transfers.

Bremer has been highlighted as the top target by the Italian media and Gazzetta dello Sport (page 20) claim that United have their sights on landing the Brazilian.

The club have been ‘enticed’ by his performances this campaign. The Bianconeri reportedly won’t stop him from leaving, provided their transfer valuation is met.

Bremer’s €60 million release clause only becomes active in June 2025, but the Turin giants are willing to do business for the same fee when the transfer window reopens.

The price does not scare the Red Devils. Juventus could also be open to a part-exchange agreement if Mason Greenwood is offered as a makeweight.

United have been in constant contact with Bremer’s representatives in recent months.

United could sign Bremer in a part-exchange deal for Greenwood

Bremer has been on United’s radar for several months. He has reportedly been earmarked as their top defensive target, but the club may not be able to afford the transfer fee.

The club are currently on course to miss out on Champions League football. They still have much work to do to qualify for another European competition this term.

The finances should be tight for the summer. United will not want to pay a significant fee for any signings. A swap deal involving Bremer and Greenwood could be ideal.

It would be a win-win situation for both clubs. United could get their hands on Bremer for a much lesser fee while the Bianconeri stand to bolster their attack with Greenwood’s arrival.

United have made it clear that Greenwood no longer has a future at the club. That seems unlikely to change this summer, and a move to Juventus is a realistic possibility for him.
