Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho is set to withdraw from the latest Argentina squad for their games this month due to discomfort, according to TyC Sports journalist Gaston Edul.

The 20-year-old played in Sunday’s Premier League game against Aston Villa, but it appears he picked up a knock.

It would be a big blow if Garnacho does not return to action after the international break, and manager Erik ten Hag could be left sweating on his fitness.

Argentina resume their 2026 World Cup qualifiers when they face Venezuela on October 10 before taking on Bolivia six days later, but they will have to do without the Man United star.

The Red Devils attacker will hope to get much-needed rest over the next two weeks and be ready for action when Premier League action resumes on October 19.

Man United host Brentford after the break, and they need Garnacho available. The youngster has bagged four goals and three assists in 11 games across all competitions this season.

Harry Maguire and Noussair Mazraoui were both withdrawn at half-time at Villa Park. The England centre-back was in clear discomfort following a set-piece for the hosts in the closing stages of the first half.

More injuries are not good for Man United right now following a run of just three wins in 11 games, and Ten Hag will hope for good news ahead of the resumption of Premier League action.
