Manchester United could target two players from Porto when the transfer window reopens.
The club need reinforcements in January to turn their fortunes around, and they could target a couple of players from Porto after a recent scouting trip.
O Jogo claims a United representative watched Porto’s 4-0 league win over Boavista on Saturday.
They don’t necessarily specify who was being monitored, but United should target a couple of Porto players.
United’s lack of midfield control has been a huge concern, and Nico Gonzalez would be a superb acquisition.
The 22-year-old joined Porto from Barcelona last year. He has become an undisputed starter this term.
Gonzalez has registered six goals and six assists in 25 appearances in all competitions.
He was exceptional against Boavista in the Primeira Liga last night with a goal and an assist.
The Spaniard has a 90 percent passing accuracy this season. He has won an average of 5.6 duels and 2.1 tackles per game.
He has also made more than four recoveries per outing and would be a good acquisition for United.
If Casemiro and Christian Eriksen were to leave, it would make room for Gonzalez’s arrival at United.
The other transfer candidate could be Samu Omorodion amid his exceptional start since his move from Atletico Madrid.
Omorodion was on the verge of joining Chelsea last summer, but he eventually turned down the transfer offer.
The move has paid dividends, with the forward bagging 18 goals and three assists in 21 appearances.
He is the ideal replacement for Evanilson, who left for Bournemouth last summer.
A move for Omorodion could be possible if Joshua Zirkzee were to head for the exit door. Napoli and Juventus want to bring Zirkzee back to Serie A in January.
