Manchester United are considering a £50 million move for Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson, according to the Daily Star.
The Red Devils have long been interested in Fergurson and are reportedly concerned Chelsea will sign him.
United have already brought in Joshua Zirkzee but he may need time to adapt to the Premier League.
They are keen to add more firepower and believe Ferguson would be a good option.
The 19-year-old joined the Seagulls in January 2021 and has since bagged 16 goals and five assists in 65 appearances across all competitions.
Ferguson picked up a serious injury last season, which restricted his impact. He scored just six goals in 27 Premier League matches.
The Republic of Ireland international has a contract with Brighton until 2029 and it would require a premium fee to tempt them to sell one of their most prized assets.
United need reinforcements as Rasmus Hojlund is out until late September after suffering a hamstring injury during the club’s pre-season tour to the United States.
The Red Devils have also been linked with Brentford’s Ivan Toney who is reportedly willing to join them this summer.
Toney has entered the final year of his contract at the Bees but seems unwilling to pen an extension.
