Manchester United caretaker boss Michael Carrick hopes to carry their momentum into Sunday's clash with Chelsea.
Carrick came through his first test as United caretaker manager on Tuesday when his side sealed a 2-0 win over Villarreal to book their place in the Champions League last 16.
"You can have an impact quickly," said Carrick. "Sometimes it is not the ideas, it is a different voice, history proves that.
"Sometimes it works well, other times not so well. See what happens in the days to come.
"My pure focus is on preparing the team as best as I can. It's a huge responsibility that I have at the moment and I've given it everything.
"Anything after Sunday is not in my thoughts at the moment."
Asked about being replaced by Ralf Rangnick, Carrick added: "No news on that front.
"I can't tell you a lot, speculation and reports are speculation and reports, my head is on the game."
