Manchester United ‘still can’t be entirely ruled out’ for Tosin Adarabioyo despite Newcastle United being the favourites to sign the centre-back this summer, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Adarabioyo has informed Fulham that he will not be signing a new contract and will leave the club on a free transfer this summer.

Several Premier League clubs have been chasing him but Newcastle have already made a firm offer to him.

The Magpies believe that they are the frontrunners to sign the defender on a free transfer in the next transfer window, with it suggested they have made big progress this week.

However, Manchester United ‘still can’t be entirely ruled out’ in the chase to land Adarabioyo, despite Newcastle’s optimism.

The Premier League giants see a chance to sign a Premier League-proven defender for nothing in Adarabioyo in the upcoming transfer window.

Manchester United could hope to use their technical director Jason Wilcox’s prior relationship with the defender as leverage in their pursuit of him.

Newcastle are still the favourites to sign him but Manchester United have not been ruled out of the race.
