Manchester United have had a quiet winter transfer window, but there could be some activity soon.
The left wing-back position has been problematic, and manager Ruben Amorim may want an upgrade.
A new striker could be another priority and the club have already identified their top winter target.
United are exploring a loan deal for Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani, as per The Athletic.
The Red Devils could advance their pursuit once Marcus Rashford is loaned out.
AC Milan are interested in signing the 27-year-old but want to pay half of his £300,000 per week salary for a temporary deal.
If United were to give the green light, they could immediately turn their attention to Kolo Muani.
The Frenchman earns £144,000 per week at Les Parisiens and his wages could be directly compensated with the money saved from Rashford’s switch to Milan.
Muani was one of the most sought-after strikers in European football during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt. He bagged 23 goals and 17 assists in his debut season.
His performances earned him a move to Parc des Princes in 2023. He has since struggled with 18 goal contributions from 54 appearances for PSG.
The former Nantes man has averaged only 44 minutes per game. United could get the best out of Muani with a guaranteed starting role in the back end of the campaign.
Muani, described as ‘explosive‘ by Bundesliga’s official website, would suit Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system as he can play out wide or as the main centre-forward.
The 26-year-old possesses a terrific work rate and can link up play from deeper attacking positions. He likes to engage in duels, and would be an upgrade on Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
United should negotiate a loan deal with an option to buy for Muani, who PSG purchased for an initial £64 million from Eintracht at the beginning of last season.
