Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn't ready to write off Diogo Dalot.
Sky Italia's Gianluca di Marzio reports United opted not to include a purchase option in Milan's deal for Diogo Dalot because they believe he may have a future at the club.
The 21-year-old full-back joined Man Utd from Portuguese giants FC Porto in 2018 but has been unable to nail down a starting place at Old Trafford.
The arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka further impacted his game time, and now he will spend the season in Serie A with Milan.
Di Marzio explained that Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara were desperate to sign the defender, but they will only be allowed to loan him.
That is because United want to reevaluate his situation next summer.
