Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was pleased with Dean Henderson's debut for their 3-0 Carabao Cup win at Luton Town.

Henderson made a superb save to deny Tom Lockyer an equaliser after Juan Mata's penalty had put the hosts ahead.

Substitutes Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood then wrapped up the win with late goals.

"You have to make saves when needed," said Solskjaer after Tuesday's win.

"David [de Gea] has done that for years and Dean did that today."

Henderson came through United's youth system but has spent much of his senior career at the club on loan and was at Sheffield United for the last two seasons.

He posted to social media: "I dreamt about this my whole life.

"Unbelievable feeling to make my debut for the club I love. Clean sheet and a win to top it off."
