Manchester United not only prevented Premier League clubs from signing Jesse Lingard, but blocked a switch to Nice in France.
The winger has been unable to get much game time at United this term.
According to FootMercato, West Ham and Newcastle were the two Premier League clubs after Lingard, with United not able to agree a deal with either of them.
The source goes on to say that Nice in Ligue 1 also wanted the attacker, but were told by United that Lingard would be staying put.
The Red Devils may have held onto Lingard after the situation surrounding Mason Greenwood, who is being kept away from first team training and games indefinitely.
