Manchester United are ‘closely’ monitoring ex-Chelsea star Tammy Abraham, with a Red Devils scout reportedly watching every Roma game ahead of a possible €60m move in the summer.

Abraham impressed in his debut season for Roma last term, scoring 27 goals in all competitions under Jose Mourinho, leading to reports of interest from Premier League clubs in bringing him back to England.

The England international has struggled to keep up his goalscoring form this season, and has more recently lost his starting spot to Andrea Belotti.

But Abraham’s dip in performances hasn’t put off Premier League suitors, with both Chelsea and Manchester United still thought to be keen on acquiring him this summer.

As reported in the gossip column, Chelsea want to offer Romelu Lukaku – whom Inter Milan have opted against keeping after his loan this season – in exchange for Abraham.

But La Repubblica (via Sport Witness) claim Manchester United ‘above all’ are looking at Abraham, and have had a ‘scout is present at every match to closely monitor Abraham in action for Roma’.

The Serie A side will reportedly listen to offers of €60m for the striker they signed from Chelsea for €40m in the summer of 2021.

Everton and Aston Villa are also thought to be in the mix for Abraham, who as previously admitted that he may one day return to the Premier League.

Speaking to talkSPORT a year ago, the forward said: “When I see reports linking me with other clubs it makes me feel good, it makes you feel like you’re doing something right. It’s a nice feeling seeing your name all over newspapers.

“But for me it’s about focusing on doing my business here. I can keep getting linked with many clubs but who knows what the future holds?

“Of course I grew up in England, I’m a London boy. So maybe one day I’ll be back in the Premier League to make noise there. But for me right now it’s about focusing on Rome, on doing the best I can and hopefully winning these guys a trophy which they haven’t done in many years.”
