Manchester United target Antony wants to join Erik ten Hag’s side this summer, claims talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

The Ajax winger is believed to be a player who Ten Hag is eager to sign before the transfer window closes, and Crook says he wants a move despite one looking extremely complicated right now.

What is the latest news involving Antony?

According to the MailOnline, United’s new manager is interested in bringing Antony to Old Trafford.

However, the newspaper has also stated that Ajax want £84m for the Brazil international, with the Dutch club determined to keep hold of him.

So far this summer, United have managed to sign Antony’s former Ajax team-mate Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen, but it is clear that Ten Hag is not satisfied with that and wants to do more business.

Landing an attacker seems to be one of the next things on the Dutchman’s agenda, but getting Antony through the door looks like it is going to be extremely difficult.

What has Crook said about Antony to United?

While both Ten Hag and Antony are keen on a reunion, Crook says Ajax are under no pressure to sell after already cashing in on Martinez and Sebastien Haller.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the talkSPORT reporter said: “It’s 50/50 at this stage. Ten Hag is very keen. The player wants to come, but Ajax are in quite a strong position because they’ve already raised money by selling Martinez and Haller, so they don’t need to sell him on the cheap.”

Do United have enough attacking options heading into the new season?

It is probably not the end of the world if United fail to sign Antony in this transfer window. The Red Devils still have some very good options in attack.

net a couple of times in the Premier League and once in the Champions League.

If Rashford and Martial can rediscover their best form again and Ronaldo remains at Old Trafford, then Ten Hag will have a threatening frontline.

You get the impression that the 52-year-old would love to sign Antony. But £84m is an extraordinary amount of money for a player who has not done much outside of the Eredivisie, while United already have some decent attackers, to say the least.
