Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will have Aaron Wan-Bissaka ‘under the microscope from day one’ of pre-season before deciding whether to sanction his Old Trafford exit, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Ten Hag has officially moved into the Red Devils’ hot seat and, ahead of his first season at the helm, could look to oversee a squad overhaul during the summer window.

What’s the latest news involving Wan-Bissaka?

Wan-Bissaka, who cost £50million when he joined from Crystal Palace close to three years ago, may be on his way out of Manchester United in the not-too-distant future.

The Red Devils are understood to be willing to sanction the right-back’s departure from Old Trafford when the transfer window reopens next month.

A permanent switch is the preferred option from Manchester United’s point of view, but the club are not ruling out agreeing to a loan move as long as an obligation to buy is included in the deal for the former England under-21 international.

While Wan-Bissaka appears not to be wanted by his current employers, they are in a strong negotiating position if suitors come forward for his services as the 24-year-old’s £90,000-per-week contract still has two years to run and the Red Devils boast the option of extending the agreement by another 12 months.

Former side Crystal Palace are reportedly mulling over whether to make a move which would take Wan-Bissaka back to Selhurst Park.

What has Dean Jones said about Wan-Bissaka?

Jones believes Wan-Bissaka’s Manchester United future is under threat as the full-back positions are seen as a weak link at Old Trafford.

The transfer insider feels ten Hag will ensure he runs the rule over Wan-Bissaka from the moment the Red Devils begin their preparations for the 2022/23 campaign.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “It’s a position that is definitely under threat. I think that one of his priorities is to check all the players out in person and see if they’re up to it.

“Obviously, United are going to be returning to pre-season early and I think that guys like Wan-Bissaka are going to be under the microscope from day one.”

Why could Wan-Bissaka be on his way out of Man United?

Wan-Bissaka may have made 26 appearances this season, but he fell down the pecking order in the final weeks and failed to enjoy any game-time during the last five games of the campaign.

Fellow right-back Diogo Dalot has already been told that he features in ten Hag’s plans, which most likely does not bode well for Wan-Bissaka.

Manchester United’s new boss could also be in the market for a new option in the position, with him being offered the chance to sign Barcelona’s Sergino Dest and Red Devils legend Rio Ferdinand urging ten Hag to lure Norwich City ace Max Aarons to Old Trafford.
