Manchester United’s emerging talent Noam Emeran is on the verge of joining Eredivisie club Groningen, claims Italian journalist Luca Bendoni.

Barring any late twists, the 20-year-old Frenchman is expected to travel to the Netherlands to undergo a medical before signing on the dotted line.

Emeran impressed for Man United during pre-season registering a goal and an assist against Leeds United in Norway, but it wasn’t enough to earn a call-up to Erik ten Hag’s squad.

The France under-16 international is set to leave the Red Devils in search of regular playing time, and a move to Groningen offers him the chance to continue his exciting rise to prominence in the Dutch top flight.

Emeran joined Man United’s youth set-up from Amiens in 2019, with the Red Devils fending off several European heavyweights to secure his signature.

The French forward, famed for his technical prowess and versatility, has been hugely impressive with his performances in the youth ranks.

He clocked up five goals and six assists for the U18s, earning a call-up to the U23 set-up, where he picked up a further seven goals and two assists in 36 appearances.

Although the financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, Emeran’s imminent transfer is expected to be permanent.

The young prodigy will become the latest youngster to depart Man United this summer. Midfielder Charlie Savage secured a move to League One side Reading.

Ethan Laird has joined Championship side Birmingham City, and Zidane Iqbal has signed for Dutch outfit Utrecht.
