Manchester United have Rosenborg BK midfielder Sverre Nypan on their radar ahead of the next winter transfer window, according to Fussball News.

The 17-year-old Norwegian is also being monitored by Manchester City and Arsenal, and his playing style has been compared to that of Gunners captain Martin Odegaard.

Nypan celebrates his 18th birthday in December, and the Red Devils are planning to make a move for him in January 2025.

The Norway youth international has already established himself as a regular for the Eliteserien outfit despite his age.

Nypan has bagged five goals and six assists in 34 appearances for Rosenborg. He is primarily a central midfielder, but has been regularly deployed in a more attacking role and has performed brilliantly.

Man United see the teenage sensation as one for the future and will continue to run the rule over him ahead of the next winter transfer window.

The Red Devils have never hesitated to give youngsters the chance to impress in the first-team once they can prove themselves.

Teenage trio Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Willy Kambwala have featured regularly under manager Erik ten Hag this season.

Nypan’s game intelligence, positioning and spatial awareness have impressed big clubs across Europe.

However, he is yet to physically mature to the needed level expected of a Premier League footballer, and clubs will keep watching to see how he progresses.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to recruit youngsters capable of turning into superstars instead of splashing the cash on established stars and Nypan fits the bill.
