While one would struggle to find a more loyal fanbase than Manchester United’s, it appears that the Reds faithful have well and truly lost patience with the current state of the club.
For the first time in 35 years, Man Utd found themselves in the bottom half of the table on Christmas. So while this damning fact should have sparked a major reaction on Boxing Day, it was quite the opposite, with the team somehow managing to hit new lows while further plummetting down the table.
The Red Devils were let down by their captain Bruno Fernandes who left them with a man down after collecting his third red card of the season!
Ruben Amorim’s men were unlikely to survive with a numerical disadvantage, at least not in their current shambolic state. Hence, no one was surprised to see Wolves run away with a 2-0 victory at Molineux.
The home supporters were rightfully delighted by their second EPL victory in a row which elevated them in the standings, whereas the away sector was incredibly gloomy. So while the Man United supporters usually stay on to show their appreciation for the players’ effort regardless of the final result, this wasn’t the case this time around.
According to Steven Railston of Manchester Evening News, the away sector was mostly empty when Amorim’s men headed to salute their travelling supporters and apologize for the defeat.

As the journalist puts it, the fans simply weren’t interested in any apology, preferring to avoid any unpleasant interaction with their underperforming stars.
The Red Devils faithful are now wondering whether their beloved club has finally hit rock bottom or will they manage to sink to yet another blow.
United currently sit 14th in the league table, with some beginning to wonder if the team will get involved in a humiliating relegation battle.
