Manchester United to double Bruno Fernandes wages after Europa League final

According to The Sun, Manchester United will double the wages of Bruno Fernandes after their Europa League final. After a year and a half of scintillating performances, United are keen to reward their star man by doubling his current wages that will be in the tune of £200,000-a-week.

There are no words to describe the impact Fernandes has had on United since his arrival from Sporting CP. The midfielder has often, singlehandedly pushed Manchester United to greater heights with his match-winning performances.

It has been another great season for Fernandes, who has scored 27 goals and 17 assists in 54 games for United (h/t Transfermarkt). He has led from the front as United find themselves close to cementing a second place in the league and on their way to a first final under Solskjaer.

With the season reaching its crescendo, Fernandes will have a lot to do still, especially in the Europa League final as United aim to break their four-year trophy duck. However, if the Sun is to be believed, he is also in line for a massive pay rise, with his £100,000-a-week wages set to be doubled to £200,000-a-week.

  • Manchester United to offer Edinson Cavani an impressive £250k per week to stay for another season
  • Promising Manchester United midfielder James Garner could be loaned to a foreign club this summer
  • Manchester United and Ajax Amsterdam face off in the battle to sign Kamaldeen Sulemana

Those numbers are pale in comparison to the service Fernandes has provided in the last 16 months or so in a red shirt. With 5 more games to go in the season, he will be hoping to finish on a high and get United that trophy on May 26.
