Manchester United to be offered Alex Telles by agent

According to Portuguese publication A Bola (h/t Daily Star), Pini Zahavi, the agent of FC Porto left-back Alex Telles, is set to offer Manchester United a chance to sign the Brazilian this summer.

The 27-year-old Telles has been with FC Porto since 2016, having signed from Turkish giants Galatasaray. Over the years, the full-back has grown into a key performer for the Portuguese heavyweights, racking up 24 goals and 55 assists in 192 appearances.

Telles enjoyed one of his most prolific seasons last time out, as he plundered 13 goals and 12 assists from 49 appearances across all competitions in 2019/20. Now in the final year of his contract with the club, Telles has been linked heavily with an exit. (h/t Daily Star)

Manchester United have been linked with a new left-back this summer, with Real Madrid’s Sergio Reguilon touted as a target. However, the Red Devils seem to have missed out on his signing, with Tottenham the front-runners. (h/t Daily Star)

Zahavi is keen on capitalising on this and wants to offer Telles to Manchester United. The Brazilian international will be available for a reasonable £18.5m. (h/t Daily Star)

Manchester United have two capable left-backs in the form of Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams. However, the former’s injury issues remain a concern, while the latter is still inexperienced.

So signing someone as experienced and proven as Telles would be quite a smart move. More so considering the price that he is available at.

With the transfer window deadline fast approaching, the club needs to act soon. Clubs around us have all strengthened this summer and not doing the same could come to bite us back in the future.
