Manchester United team up with Chelsea, Man City, and Liverpool to bring back South American stars including Fred and Edinson Cavani

According to the Daily Mail (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are set to team up with Liverpool, Man City, and Chelsea to bring back South American stars, including Fred & Edinson Cavani, in time for the weekend clash.

The Red Devils went into the international break in poor form as they picked up a combined single point against Everton & Aston Villa. Their fixture list after the international break is nothing short of simple and will start off against Leicester City at the King Power stadium.

Thus, Ole Gunnar Solskajer would want most of his players back for this game, including the ones who are currently playing in the South American countries and have matches scheduled for as late as Friday morning.

However, the same case applies to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City & Liverpool. Thus, the quartet, including United, are set to charter a private jet that will see their South American stars return to their respective domestic clubs on immediate completion of their international duties.

Cavani to feature against Leicester?

Brazil are set to play Uruguay in Manaus on Friday at 1:30 AM UK time, after which nine players taking part in the said qualifier, including Fred & Cavani, shall be flown to England for their club’s weekend games.

However, while Cavani could be eligible to face Leicester, Fred will not share the same liberty. This is because the Brazilian visited Colombia for a game recently – a country that is still in the red-zone list.

Under the new rules, Fred would have to quarantine on return from a red-zone country, while Cavani would have to do no such thing as his nation is off the red-list.

Thus, Solskjaer could at least take solace in the fact that he will have his Uruguayan centre-forward available for the game on the weekend as United look to put pressure on league leaders Chelsea.
