Manchester United target Ivan Toney has agreed personal terms on a move to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

The Red Devils have already added to their attacking depth by signing Joshua Zirkzee, who has already made an impression at Old Trafford, scoring a late winner versus Fulham on opening day.

Nonetheless, there have been constant links to England international Toney who looks on the cusp of leaving Brentford after he was left out of their squad to face Crystal Palace.

There has been significant confusion to how interested United have been in the 28 year old forward as there have been numerous conflicting reports on the issue.

It was stated by some sources that despite Toney’s omission from the squad, United were not involved in any discussions for the player but reports then came out shortly after that Erik ten Hag’s side were still in the race for the striker, and were deliberately waiting until the end of the window to strike.

Although no club has shown as much interest as the Saudi Arabians and they have already seen a £35 million bid knocked back for him but remain in discussions with the Bees over a deal.

HITC report that they understand that “Toney has agreed personal terms with Saudi Pro-League outfit Al-Ahli ahead of him completing a move to the Middle East.”

“The England striker is still discussing moving to the Middle East with his family, but the financial package on offer has been agreed in principle.”

Despite the initial rejection of the bid, talks are said to be ongoing between the two clubs and “sources believe a deal is now close to being completed.”

Interestingly, HITC also report that they “can confirm that no Premier League club have made any offers to Brentford for Toney this summer.”

With United currently discussing a loan with an obligation to buy deal for Manuel Ugarte, it seems to stand to reason that they would not have the required cash to spend on Toney this summer

Of course until a deal is finalised, United or any other English club could make a late push for the forward but as things currently stand, it seems his future will be in Saudi Arabia.
