Manchester United are aiming to send Harry Amass and Dan Gore on loan in this January window.

There has been much talk about who United want to sell this January to raise funds for incomings and there have been reports that up to six first-team players are on the chopping block.

Nonetheless, another important aspect of any window is finding the correct loan moves for players who no longer benefit from the academy games but are also not ready for first team action.

Radek Vitek and Sonny Aljofree are two examples of players who are getting huge minutes away from Old Trafford and who will hopefully come back in the summer much better equipped to contribute in the first team squad.

There have been reports that former United coach Ruud van Nistelrooy is aiming to use his connections at Old Trafford to bring in a loan star or two to Leicester City, with Toby Collyer mentioned as one such example.

Manchester World reports that “Man Utd are aiming to send at least two academy youngsters out on loan this month.”

United are “prioritising loan exits for academy stars Harry Amass and Dan Gore during the January transfer window”.

It is felt that they would both benefit “greatly from a taste of senior football” after neither getting particularly close to first team action in this campaign.

Amass played a big role in the pre-season tour of the United States of America and was slated to be given an opportunity this season, especially with the lack of natural left backs available in the squad.

In spite of this, he has been deemed ill-prepared for the rigours of Premier League football and despite making five appearances on the bench, he is yet to play a minute of senior football.

It is thought that a loan to the EFL would be the next “logical step” in his progression. Nonetheless, Amass has also been linked to a loan move to Premier League side Leicester City.

Gore was on loan last season to Port Vale but picked up a serious injury in his first match for them and never played again for the League Two side.

He has returned to form this season for the under 21s however and is another player who would significantly benefit from regular senior football.

Numerous other players could leave Old Trafford on loan this month but “Amass and Gore are likely to be the most high-profile exits and are the two players the club is actively looking to arrange loans for.”
