Ahead of tomorrow’s exciting clash, we have predicted how we think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will line his Red Devils up.
United’s number-one should expect to start again when the Reds take on Southampton.
The Spaniard is in some of the best form of his career and his manager will be keen to keep his momentum going.
United’s right-back picked up a knock against Istanbul earlier this week, but assuming he is fit enough for tomorrow’s game, he will start and be tasked with keeping the Saints’ front-line quiet.
Arguably one of the Reds best defenders so far this season, I see no reason why Lindelof won’t line-up in his usual role next to centre-back partner Maguire.
Similarly to team-mate Lindelof, I can’t see Solskjaer opting to chop and change his back-line too much and would expect Maguire to start alongside his Swedish defensive partner.
With Luke Shaw still out, Telles’ starting spot is virtually nailed on.
Growing into a deeper role superbly. Fred is quickly becoming one of Solskjaer’s most trusted midfielders and after some superb recent performances, it’s not hard to see why.
I would be amazed if Fred doesn’t keep his starting spot on Sunday.
This is the toughest spot in the team to pick, but I think Solskjaer knows the Saints are in fine form and will opt for experience over the more youthful Scott McTominay when it comes to keeping the notoriously creative James Ward-Prowse in check.
Gave a huge account of himself during mid-week.
Van de Beek can consider himself very unlucky not to start if his manager opts to demote him back to the bench on Sunday.
Mr Undroppable. That is all.
Similarly to Fred and Fernandes, United’s 22-year-old is in fine form and should expect to start again against Southampton.
United’s latest big name is offering so much more to the Reds’ front-line than what regular Anthony Martial is.
I would like to think Cavani will get the nod over the out-of-form Frenchman.
