They tried to make a comeback after conceding from a corner but Wolves remained defensively resolute.

A late counter-attacking goal sealed a perfect victory for the hosts.

Player Ratings

Andre Onana – 1/10

The Cameroon international reached a new low when he conceded a goal directly from a corner. Unacceptable.

Noussair Mazraoui – 5/10

There was nothing he could do about either goal. He looks to be more influential in the right centre-back role.

Leny Yoro – 5/10

The youngster displayed naivety, earning a booking in the fourth minute.

Harry Maguire – 6/10

Maguire kept things simple at the back and had a good battle with Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Lisandro Martinez – 7/10

The Argentine covered the ground well and made several crucial defensive actions to keep his side in the game.

Diogo Dalot – 6/10

Dalot tested Jose Sa early on with a fine curling shot. With Fernandes off the pitch, he stepped up to provide solidarity on the left flank.

Manuel Ugarte – 7/10

Another excellent outing for the midfielder, but picked up a booking for delaying a restart.

Kobbie Mainoo – 5/10

The United youngster was wayward with his passing and drew ire from Rasmus Hojlund twice.

Bruno Fernandes – 1/10

His foolishness led to a nightmare start to the second half for United. His late challenge on Nelson Semedo was needless, especially when he was already on a yellow card.

Amad Diallo – 5/10

A quiet evening for the young attacker.

Rasmus Hojlund – 3/10

Hojlund struggled to get involved due to his poor game awareness and his teammates failing to play him in at the right moments.

Substitutions

Casemiro – 6/10

A good cameo from the veteran midfielder.

Antony – 5/10

The Brazilian took one shot which was off target.

Christian Eriksen – 5/10

He failed to show any creativity.

Joshua Zirkzee – N/A

Alejandro Garnacho – N/A
