Manchester United plan to ‘modernise’ Old Trafford in the near future

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are set to modernise the Old Trafford stadium soon amidst the fury of the fans over lack of improvements.

In what could be an expensive investment, the Red Devils are set to make changes to the theatre of dreams by modernizing the stadium but also ‘preserving the heritage’ at the same time.

One of the most iconic stadiums in Europe and possibly world football, the search for master architects is set to be launched by the club as they want the best minds to be at work for this glorious ground.

However, they could be a few challenges along the way. The focus is said to be on the ageing South Stand, but the issues United could face is if they do somehow expand the stadium.

Improvements might not cause a problem, but an expansion could cause one due to the adjacent railway line. Fans have called out for changes to be made to the stadium but United owners have already spent nearly £20million on the ground and training HQ in the summer itself.

Moreover, it is also said an appointment to take a look at Carrington is ‘imminent‘, after which Old Trafford will also be paid its due attention.

Significant investment and upgrades have been promised and perhaps it is time to bring about a change to the stadium. The club have already assembled a fantastic squad by investing well this summer, and fans deserve to watch the game with reasonable comfort in their respective stands.

Additionally, given that they were no fans for nearly a year and a half due to the Covid-19 pandemic, an upgrade could also raise the attendance numbers and boost the income of the club through ticket sales.
