Manchester United and Amad Diallo are closing in on a full accord over a contract renewal.
The Abidjan native initially signed for the Red Devils in January 2021 after rising through the ranks of Atalanta. However, he was seemingly too green to make an impact at Old Trafford, so the club sent him out on loan spells at Rangers and Sunderland to sharpen his tools.
The Ivorian returned to Carrington in the summer of 2023 and was part of Erik ten Hag’s squad last season, but he’s finally beginning to hit his stride this term, especially following the arrival of Ruben Amorim.
The 22-year-old has been showcasing his devastating pace and trickery on the right flank in recent weeks, producing formidable displays against the likes of Everton and Viktoria Plzen. Nevertheless, his late heroics against Manchester City rendered him a bonafide hero among the club’s supporters.
Amad inspired a comeback victory by earning the spot kick converted by Bruno Fernandes in the 88th minute before scoring the winner a couple of minutes later.
Therefore, Man United have now accelerated their contract negotiations with the player’s entourage, and as Sky Sports reveals, the constructive and positive talks continue on this front, as the two parties are now close to reaching an agreement.

Diallo’s contract with the Red Devils is set to expire at the end of the season, but the club has the option to automatically renew it for another year.
Nevertheless, the Premier League giants are looking to armor their rising star with a long-term deal to ward off all possible suitors.
This season, the Ivory Coast international has scored four goals and produced six assists in his 24 appearances across all competitions thus far. He has featured both as a wingback and an advanced winger/attacking midfielder in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.
