Manchester United has a new kid on the block.

Tunisian midfielder Hannibal Mejri is set to become the Red Devils’ next promoted youth star.

That’s according to a recent report from Manchester Evening News, who claims the midfielder will be further integrated into the side’s senior set-up once he returns from the African Cup of Nations.

Widely regarded as the next big talent to come out of the Red Devils’ prestigious academy, the excitement surrounding Mejbri has been boiling over for quite some time.

The midfielder’s search for first-team football was handed a major boost after he was recently called up to represent Tunisia in this year’s AFCON.

Now considered a fully-fledged senior international, the next step in the youngster’s career looks certain to be establishing himself as a United regular.

Speaking recently to Le Parisien, Mejbri (as quoted by The Mirror), said: “When I go back to United [after AFCON], we will see if there will be any changes for me and if I can try to earn a place in the team, in any case, I’ll work hard for it.”

Mejbri’s case to feature with the first team will be strengthened if Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek can both secure loan moves.

Another player understood to benefit from players moving on is wide-attacker Anthony Elanga, who will now replace Anthony Martial, who has recently joined Sevilla on loan until the end of the season.
